The innocent “Karako” (Chinese children) painted by Japanese-style painter Tamaju Isayama, and the cute “girl with heart-shaped eyes” drawn by pop artist Omochi. The GNE creative team participated from the planning stages, taking on the challenge of creating a one-of-a-kind artwork by “mashing up” these two universally “kawaii” (cute) motifs. The method of expression they arrived at was the concept of Neon Art. It is the unique sparkle born in the moment when stillness and motion, tradition and innovation, collide and merge. This work is an attempt to pursue the possibilities of new expression that transcends eras and genres by representing that scene as “Neon Art.”
