Millennium Sculpture Project
As part of a thousand-year vision to create an immense architectural structure enveloped in sculpture, the first central work is the “Three-Dimensional Wheel of the Six Realms of Rebirth (Rittai Rokudō Rinnezu)”, produced from 2025 to 2045.
This five-meter-high sculpture represents the eternal cycle of transmigration through six realms, as depicted in the traditional Rokudō Rinnezu. Within each realm, six manifestations of Kannon appear—one of which has already been completed in Kamakura, Kanagawa.

Born into a family of artisans spanning generations, he was raised from childhood alongside the crafts of wood carving and lacquer art.
Drawing on these skills and knowledge, his work has centered on the creation and restoration of Buddhist statues as well as the production of fine art sculptures.
Alongside his career as a sculptor, he has dedicated himself to reviving the tradition of the Kamakura Buddhist sculptors—masters active from the Kamakura to the Muromachi periods whose lineage had long been lost—by restoring the classical technique known as Donmon.
In 2020, he created and consecrated the first Donmon Buddha in approximately 650 years, establishing himself as a modern “Kamakura Buddhist sculptor.” In parallel with his work to preserve cultural heritage, he also founded the Millennium Sculpture Project, an undertaking to create new cultural assets for the future.
