針谷氏による繊細な鉛筆画で書かれる現代的なモチーフと、200年以上の歴史をもつ宮脇賣扇庵の職人が描く伝統的なモチーフ。異なるテイストのモチーフを組み合わせることで、元々は存在しなかったストーリーや解釈が生まれます。
作品のテイストもバックボーンも異なる二者が、それぞれの現代的な感性を掛け合わせて生まれた、唯一無二の作品です。
This work is a fusion of two contrasting elements: the contemporary motifs drawn with intricate pencil by the artist Mr. Haritani, and the traditional motifs painted by the artisans of Miyawaki Baisenan, a company with over 200 years of history.
By combining these different styles, we give birth to new stories and interpretations that did not previously exist. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind work, born from the collaboration of two creators with different artistic sensibilities and backgrounds, who have united their modern perspectives.

その歴史は、美濃国出身の初代が、京都の扇子屋で修業をしたのち、近江屋新兵衛より鑑札を譲り受け創業したことに始まります。以来、雅な京の文化とともに歩み、現在まで200年以上にわたり、京扇子一筋に伝統の技と美意識を守り続けています。
扇子を通して、日本の四季や文化を表現するその姿勢は、細部にまで魂を込めるアートの本質と深く共鳴します。歴史に裏打ちされた匠の技により、アーティストの作品を表現いただきました。
200年以上にわたり日本の美意識を扇子に込めてきた「宮脇賣扇庵」の精神をご紹介するとともに、心より感謝の意を表します。
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the venerable Miyawaki Baisenan, founded in 1823, for their invaluable cooperation in the creation of this work.
The company’s history began when its founder, a native of Mino Province, apprenticed at a Kyoto fan shop before receiving a license from Omiya Shinbee to establish his own business. Since then, for over 200 years, Miyawaki Baisenan has walked alongside Kyoto’s elegant culture, single-mindedly dedicating itself to preserving the traditional techniques and aesthetic sensibilities of Kyo-sensu, or Kyoto folding fans.
The company’s approach of expressing Japan’s seasons and culture through fans deeply resonates with the essence of art, which is to pour one’s soul into every detail. With their masterful techniques, backed by a history spanning two centuries, they have given beautiful form to the artist’s vision.
