Overview
一方は、最先端の技術と厳格な品質管理で自動車を生み出すマスプロダクトの職人。もう一方は、代々受け継がれる技法で、一つとして同じもののない木桶を制作する伝統工芸家。
決して交わることのないと思われた二つの世界が、「手の技」という共通項で響き合います。効率化と個別化、革新と継承。それぞれの現場で日々「ものづくり」と向き合う両者が、その哲学や未来への展望を語り尽くす貴重なセッションです。
これからの時代の豊かさとは何か、そのヒントがここにあります。
On one hand, a mass-production craftsman who creates automobiles with cutting-edge technology and strict quality control. On the other, a traditional artisan who crafts one-of-a-kind wooden buckets using techniques passed down through generations. These two worlds, once thought to never intersect, now resonate through the common language of “handwork.” Efficiency and personalization, innovation and succession. This is a rare session where both individuals, who confront “MONODUKURI” (craftsmanship) daily in their respective fields, will thoroughly discuss their philosophies and visions for the future. Herein lie hints to the nature of prosperity in the coming era.

- プロフィール / Profile: 1968年、京都の木桶職人の家に生まれる。父であり人間国宝の中川清司氏に師事し、伝統的な木工技術を習得。2003年に滋賀県大津市に自身の工房を開設。ドンペリニヨンの公式シャンパンクーラーを手がけるなど、国内外のデザイナーとも積極的に協業し、伝統工芸に新たな風を吹き込んでいる。
- Born in Kyoto in 1968 to a family of traditional wooden bucket makers. He studied traditional woodworking techniques under his father, Kiyotsugu Nakagawa, a Living National Treasure. In 2003, he established his own studio in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. He has actively collaborated with designers both in Japan and internationally, including creating the official champagne cooler for Dom Pérignon, breathing new life into traditional crafts.

1981年にダイハツ工業株式会社に入社後、キャリアの大半を過ごされた生産技術・製造部門において、滋賀（竜王）工場の製造部長や副工場長などを歴任し車づくりのチームプレーを深く体得され、その後、調達や経営管理の分野での経験を経て、現在は日本の風土や生活に寄り添った車づくりを手掛けておられます。
After joining Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. in 1981, Mr. Hoshika spent the majority of his career in the production engineering and manufacturing divisions. Holding successive posts such as General Manager and Deputy Plant Manager of the Shiga (Ryuo) Plant, he mastered the principles of teamwork essential to car manufacturing. He later gained experience in fields including procurement and business management, and is now dedicated to creating cars tailored to the Japanese climate and lifestyle. - 略歴
